What the Risk Assessment Covers
A risk assessment answers three questions in order: what do you have, what could go wrong, and what is worth doing about it. The engagement works through:

Threats and vulnerabilities applicable to those assets, including the ones specific to your industry
Likelihood and impact, so risks can be ranked rather than listed
Existing controls and how far they already reduce each risk
A Risk Treatment Plan naming, for every significant risk, whether to mitigate, transfer, avoid or accept it, and what that would cost
Alignment with the framework you report against, including NIST CSF 2.0 and the HIPAA Security Risk Analysis required of covered entities and business associates

The result is a prioritized roadmap rather than a list of findings: you can see which risks to spend on first and defend that decision to a board or a regulator.
